RESEARCH SURVEY

To Whom It May Concern:

You are invited to participate in an online survey for research about the educational and planning uses of ASL Resource. Data received from this survey will be used for research only and identities of subjects will remain anonymous.

The ASLResource.net website serves as a one-stop resource for those seeking to learn the signs for various countries around the world. A list of references is included to give credibility to the signs shown on the website and to acknowledge regional differences. When possible, both the American Sign Language sign and the indigenous sign are posted as well as the sign for some of the larger cities located within the country.

This study will seek to determine how ASL Resource is used as an educational and planning tool for deaf education teachers, sign language instructors, deaf students, sign language students, and sign language interpreters. Results obtained and published from this study will help improve services for deaf students and deaf clients by providing deaf education teachers, sign language instructors, and sign language interpreters with information that can be incorporated into their lesson plans, teaching strategies, and interpreting.

Please take your time in browsing through the website and use it as often as you’d like. After you’ve become acquainted with the website and used it for your own personal and educational purposes, consider filling out a brief survey at http://www.kwiksurveys.com/online-survey.php?surveyID=MKNJJ_cccf1b12. Feel free to invite your friends and colleagues to complete the survey as well. Your help is appreciated!

Note that participation in this survey does not increase risks for subjects more than minimally beyond the ordinary risks of daily life, and participants will not receive any compensation for completing the survey.

Thank you for your time and assistance with this survey.

 With Gratitude,

 Carolyn Stephens
